Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

This policy explains how Game Nite uses cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage) on our websites and apps. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use similar storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage to remember your sign-in token and your interface preferences. For simplicity, this page uses "cookies" to refer to all of these.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary Keep you signed in, protect against cross-site request forgery, and ensure load balancers route your requests correctly. PostHog — sets ph_* cookies and uses localStorage at us.i.posthog.com. Captures account identifiers (email, username), page views, and feature events. Up to 12 months
Advertising (only if you arrive via an ad) Measures our own small paid ad campaigns (currently Reddit Ads) so we know which ads lead to signups. Loads automatically only if you arrive via one of our ads (e.g. a Reddit click); opt out anytime via the cookie banner. We do not send gameplay data, scores, or account details to advertisers. Reddit Ads pixel — sets tracking cookies/storage at reddit.com / redditstatic.com. Captures a generic "page visit" or "signed up" event tied to an ad-click identifier. Up to 12 months
Payment When you subscribe, you are redirected to Stripe Checkout. Stripe sets cookies to prevent fraud and complete the transaction. These are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. Stripe__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid. Stripe's defaults

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties acting as our service providers. They are listed in the table above. These providers are bound by contract to use the data only to provide the service to us. The only advertising cookie we currently allow is the Reddit Ads pixel, used solely to measure our own paid ad campaigns (see the table above) — we do not run any other advertising networks or social plugins on Game Nite.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as described in our Privacy Policy.
